Meet the Team
- Jane Jeffries, President-
Jane got her start writing madrigal dinner scripts when she taught drama at a private high school, which had no drama budget. The dinner theaters she wrote and produced created the drama budget. She writes as a team with her husband, Jim, and from there, they started Jest Scripts. He specializes in puns and slapstick; she deals with minor details like making sure the plays "make sense." She holds a B.A. and M.A. in English.
- Jim Jeffries, Senior Lackey-
Jim got his start writing dinner theater scripts in high school show choir. He was allowed to stay in choir as long as his scripts were funny, and he promised to sing very, very softly. He has taught in public and private schools and the county jail. His students have made him laugh and made him think. And for him, the best kind of thinking comes from laughter. He holds a B.A. and M.A. in Education.
- Claire Wilson, Lackey-
Claire got her start with storytelling in high school forensics. She spent many summers at her mother's drama camps and performing with her parents at Renaissance Faires. She branched out into writing madrigal dinner scripts because her parents own a website that sells them. Currently, she's doing research about how stress creates humor by running around after three young boys. She holds a B.A. in English and Creative Writing.
- Lisa Huffman, Contributor-
Lisa's school also needed a fundraiser, so she started writing their madrigal dinners scripts (I’m sensing a pattern here). She contacted Jane and Jim with two that she wrote. The titles were so cool, not to mention the plays, that we thought, "The more the merrier."
